Does your business qualify for the QLD 2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grant?

Does your business meet the following eligibility?

  1.  Employ staff on your payroll (excluding business owners); and
  2. Have a Queensland headquarters (i.e., your principal place of business is located in Queensland) and you were trading in Queensland on 31 July 2021; and
  3. Have an ABN continuously held from 30 June 2021; and
  4. Be registered for GST; and
  5. Have an annual turnover of more than $75, 000 or more during any of the 2018-19, 2019-20 or 2020-21 financial years (new businesses that do not have a full financial year can demonstrate that they will meet the turnover test requirement for 2021-22); and
  6. Have experienced a decline in turnover of at least 30% over a 7 day period that includes at least one full day of lockdown compared to turnover during the same 7 day period in July or August 2019. For new businesses that do not have a comparison period, or for businesses where 2019 did not represent a usual trading period, use another period such as July / August 2020.
  7. For small and medium businesses:
    1. Have an annual Queensland payroll of not more than $10 million during any of the 2018-19, 2019-20, or 2020-21 financial years. 
  8. For large tourism operators:
    1. Have an annual Queensland payroll of more than $10 million during any of the 2018-19, 2019-20 or 2020-21 financial years; and
    2. operate in the tourism and hospitality sector (check the ANZSIC codes). Your details on the Australian Business Register will need to match these codes and can be updated through your MyGov account. 
Available Funding

You may be eligible to receive a grant between $10,000 and $30,000 (excluding GST) depending on the size of your business. This grant may be used for business expenses. 

The funding packages include:

  1. $10,000 grant to employing small business and not-for-profit organisations with an annual payroll in Queensland of less than $1.3 million. 
  2. $15,000 grant to employing medium-sized businesses and not-for-profit organisations with an annual payroll in Queensland between $1.3 million and $10 million. 
  3. $30,000 grant to employing large-sized tourism and hospitality-focused businesses and not-for-profit organisations with an annual payroll in Queensland of greater than $10 million. 
Applications opened at 12 pm (midday) on 16 August 2021.
Applications will close on 16 November 2021.
